BSD Office of Research Services – Section of Research Funding

The Section of Research Funding strives to increase funding for research and other programs in the Division through a combination of activities. First, the Section maintains a library of funding information and stimulates the submission of proposals by publicizing or otherwise highlighting specific opportunities. Secondly, through its central role in the selection of candidates for limited opportunities, the Section supports Divisional and faculty interest in securing awards of high prestige and visibility. In addition, the Section plays a key role in competitive seed grants that are available from a variety of internally managed funding sources.

• Signals
  Periodic publication that is intended to highlight a selection of upcoming funding opportunities and research-related issues for BSD faculty and administrators
• Limited Opportunities Bulletin
  Upcoming internal deadlines for external funding opportunities that are restricted in the number of submissions from the University. Eligibility for opportunities are determined through consideration of agency, university and divisional policies. Department Chairs are invited to submit a designated number of nominees per opportunity. Investigators interested in being nominated should contact their Chair. The Faculty Awards Committee will review the applications and meritorious candidates will be selected for each of the funding opportunities
• Postdoctoral Funding Opportunities Bulletin
  The Postdoctoral Funding Opportunities publication highlights many distinct and unique funding opportunities available for research and fellowship support for postdoctoral fellows each quarter. Each agency's weblink is provided to enable review of the agency initiatives and specific guidelines and instructions for each funding opportunity
• Award Opportunities
  The Awards Bulletin is a monthly publication that is intended to highlight upcoming award opportunities to honor the research accomplishments and contributions of our BSD faculty in the scientific community at large
• E-Signals
  E-Signals is a weekly publication of NIH opportunities and notices. This posting is emailed to the 'ors-list' and 'all-fac' aliases. If you would like to be added to the emailing list, please contact Bushra Rehman at 4-2182. Unfortunately, it is not possible to remove faculty from the 'all-fac' alias at this time

BSD Office of Research Services – Section of Grant and Contract Management

The Section of Grant and Contract Management facilitates the proposal review and award management process by providing pre- and post-award support to the faculty and staff of the division. The section reviews and approves all proposals, regardless of the source of funding or the type of project (research, instructional, conference, travel, training, etc.), prior to institutional endorsement.
