Finding A Job
Overview
How can the BSD Postdoctoral Association (PDA) help me find a job?
The PDA is committed to providing career resources for postdocs who wish to pursue academic or non-academic careers. The PDA provides this assistance in several different ways:
- Career Advice
The PDA aims to promote the facilities offered by Career Advising and Planning Services (CAPS) to the postdoc community. This liaison includes inviting CAPS to provide careers advice during the Postdoc Seminars (below).
- Job Links
A compendium of links to job listing services, some commercial, others sponsored by professional societies.
- Job Listings
Job announcements made known to the PDA are compiled here. This list will change periodically, so check back often! - Postdoc Seminars
The PDA has invited speakers from a wide range of fields to discuss the spectrum of career options available to postdocs. Further presentations will provide postdocs with the skills necessary to pursue academic positions such as grant writing, as well as more general job-hunting preparations. Postdocs can also use the Postdoc Seminars as a forum to present their work in preparation for academic job talks. Contact Isaac Skromne at iskromne@uchicago.edu if you are interested in giving a presentation or have questions about Postdoc Seminars.
